10 Years Awaiting, Kemenpora Wins WTP Predicate

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) won the unqualified predicate (WTP) based on the audit results of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) on the 2019 fiscal year financial statements. This is the first time for the Ministry of Youth and Sports, after waiting for 10 years.

In a virtual media meeting in Jakarta, Wednesday, July 22, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Zainudin Amali, said that this predicate was a special achievement for all levels in the Ministry of Youth and Sports. This is because the last time they received the WTP title was in 2009.

"In previous years, WTP was not possible because there were incidents (corruption cases). This year we prove we can change, "said Zainudin as quoted by Antara.

"Some say (Kemenpora) is a rat nest or corruption, we will not argue. We have to show our performance and commitment to convince the public that Kemenpora is changing," the Menpora added.

Zainudin continued, this achievement was inseparable from the performance, commitment, and cooperation of all leaders and staff who always wanted to prove that the Ministry of Youth and Sports could change and always used the state budget properly, transparently, responsibly and accountably.

The BPK on Wednesday submitted the Audit Result Report Number 02 / BA-LHP-LK-XVI.3 / 7/2020 directly to the Kemenpora Office. The handover note was signed by BPK Member Achasanul Qosasi and Menpora Zainudin Amali.

Before being rewarded with the WTP status, the Ministry of Youth and Sports was asked by the BPK to follow up on the 13 recommendations mentioned in the Audit Results Report, one of which was related to import taxes and import duties for 13 sports for the 2018 Asian Games of IDR 11 billion and equipment warehouse rental fees of IDR 5.5 billion.

The recommendation, he said, had been followed up at a joint meeting with the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendi a few weeks ago. The results of the meeting determined that the resolution of the problem would be handled by the Attorney General as state attorney.

"It does not become a burden to us because the AGO is now being handled, so the AGO is chasing after these third parties (who are in arrears)," concluded Zainudin.
