Completed In 93 Days, XX PON Rugby Venue Wins 3 MURI Records

JAKARTA - The rugby venue at the Indonesian Air Force complex, Sentani, Jayapura Regency has finally been completed. The venue was completed in 93 days, one week ahead of the target.

Rugby is one of the last sports to be competed at National Sports Week (PON) XX Papua 2021. The match will start from October 10 to October 13, before the closing.

The inauguration of the IDR 122 billion venue was held today, Wednesday, September 22.

Also present at the event were the General Chair of the Central Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Marciano Norman, the Chairman of PB.PON XX, who is also the Governor of Papua Lukas Enembe, the Daily Chair of PB.PON XX Yunus Wonda and the Director-General of Human Settlements Ir. Diana Kusumastuti who was present virtually.

Citing the official website of the Central KONI, the Indonesian World Record Museum (MURI) gave three awards to this venue, namely the Construction of the Fastest Standard World Rugby Arena, Installation of the First Sports Arena with a Pre-Fabricated System, and the Fastest Installation of Synthetic Grass on the Field of Play (FoP).
