Armed With Shooting Experience At The Tokyo Olympics, Vidya Rafika Is Optimistic To Face Paris 2024

JAKARTA - Even though she has not made it past the qualifying round, Vidya Rafika Rahmatan Toyyiba is enjoying his experience at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and is optimistic that he will be able to compete again in the 2024 Paris Olympics and perform better.

Vidya was ranked 37th in the 50-meter three-position rifle with a score of 371 for the kneeling position, 391 for the prone position, and 375 for the standing position, thus accumulating a total score of 1137 from 31 shots.

Vidya's performance was quite good because she had scored 100 points in a prone and standing position. After competing, the 20-year-old said she learned a lot from her Olympic debut.

"Because this is my first experience and because the 50 meter has something to do with the wind, so I still have to learn from this new experience, and I gained a lot of experience here", she said in a release received by VOI, Saturday, July 31.

When competing, the SEA Games champion looks more relaxed than when he descended on a 10-meter rifle, last week. Vidya was seen several times consulting with coach Ebrahim Inanloushaviklo.

By participating in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Vidya got the opportunity to measure her skills with shooters from all over the world. This also makes her more optimistic about the Paris Olympics in the next three years.

“The most important lesson I learned was self-confidence. With the results at the Tokyo Olympics, I'm sure that in the Paris Olympics I can become a champion, at least with the same score as when I practiced, I can smile because the results are satisfying even though I haven't been able to enter the final. I really believe in the Paris Olympics I can because I have gained experience here", said Vidya again.
