JAKARTA - Gennaro Gattuso has officially left the Fiorentina coach. He has only led for 20 days. What is wrong?

The news of the departure of the AC Milan legend from Florence was quite shocking to the football public. The reason is, the former Napoli coach replaced Beppe Iachini on May 26.

Today, Thursday, June 17, Fiorentina via social media Instagram announced that their partnership with the Italian coach ended.

"ACF Fiorentina and Rino Gattuso, by mutual agreement, have decided not to follow up on the previous agreement and therefore will not start next season together", wrote @acfiorentina.

"The club is currently working to find a replacement (Gattuso) who will guide the Viola team towards the results it deserves for Fiorentina and the City of Florence", the statement continued.

As reported by Football Italia, on Wednesday night Italian time there were reports of an altercation between the Calabrian-born coach and the top brass at Fiorentina.

Tensions between Gattuso, President Rocco Commisso, and Club Manager Giancarlo Antognoni stemmed from an assessment of the club's transfer market regarding the player's proposal from agent Jorge Mendes, who is also Gattuso's representative.

Reports in Italy said Fiorentina wanted to make a smaller investment than the profile demanded by the new coach. As a result, they failed to find a solution.
