Bend By China, Indonesia Failed To Guard The Suhandinata Trophy

JAKARTA Indonesia is certain to fail to defend Suhandinata's trophy after losing to China in the 2025 BWF World Junior Mixed Team Championships final.

In the clashes that took place at the National Center of Excellence, Guwahati, India, on Saturday, October 11, 2025, the Indonesian mixed team badminton team gave up with a score of 0-2 (30-45, 44-45).

The clash between the two countries was hot in the first set of games. Riska Anggraini/Rinjani Kwinnara Nastine, who are believed to have dropped first, narrowly 8-9 against Cao Zi Han/Chen Fan Shu Tian.

Rinjani, who then went down with Ikhsan Lintang Pramudya after that to fight Chen Jun Ting/Cao Zi Han, also could not bring Indonesia to take over the score.

Women's singles badminton player Thalita Ramadhani Wiryawan has not been able to stem Liu Si Ya in the third party so that China remains ahead with a seven-point advantage, 27-20.

The captain of the Moh Zaki Ubaidillah team is also still helpless when playing the fourth match against the men's singles Liu Yang Ming Yu. China still maintains the difference in points of 36-27.

Daffa Edsel Ramono/Alexius Ongkytama Subagio's achievement then got their turn against Chen Jun Ting/Liu Jun Rong. As a result, they were only able to add three points for Indonesia.

In the second set, Riska/Rinjani performed perfectly when they descended in the first game. They succeeded in bringing Indonesia to a big lead 9-5 when they clashed with Cao Zi Han/Chen Fan Shu Tian.

The match afterwards was indeed tight, but Indonesia could not maintain momentum so it was a dramatic defeat. This is China's revenge, which last year was beaten by Indonesia in the final.
