Asian Champions League Standings 2 After Persib Series Against Lion City Sailors

Persib had to settle for sharing a point when they hosted Lion City Sailors in the first match of the AFC Champions League Two (Instagram/@persib).

JAKARTA - Persib Bandung became the only representative of Indonesia in the 2025/2026 Asian Champions League 2 (AFC Champions League Two). However, in the inaugural match against Lion City Sailor, three points failed to be secured.

In the inaugural Group G match, Persib faced Lion City Sailors at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium (GBLA), Thursday, September 18, 2025, WIB night. The match ended in a 1-1 draw.

The results of this point sharing then made Persib only able to occupy third place in the standings with a collection of one point from one match. Lion City Sailors is in second place also with one point.

The top position of the standings is occupied by Bangkok United who won in the opening match. Meanwhile, Selangor FC Malaysia had to settle for being at the bottom of the standings without points.

In this match, Persib appeared dominant since the first half. In the 20th minute, Saddil Ramdani almost put Persib ahead after receiving a mature pass from Utiam Barros, but his shot was still wide. Despite continuing to press, the first half ended without a goal.

Entering the second half, Persib immediately opened the scoring in the 46th minute through Saddil Ramdani's solo run.

Lion City Sailors tried to get up. Lennart Thy got the golden opportunity in the 70th minute, but Teja Paku Alam still failed.

Persib actually had the opportunity to close the match with a win after Berguinho had the opportunity in the 90th minute, but his shot was parried by the goalkeeper.

Lennart Thy finally became a disaster for Maung Bandung after scoring an equalizer in injury time.
