Fajar/Rian Withdrawn From Hong Kong Open 2025

Fajar Alfian/ Muhammad Rian Ardianto withdrew from the Hong Kong Open 2025 (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA Men's doubles Fajar Alfian/ Muhammad Rian Ardianto are withdrawn from the 2025 Hong Kong Open Super 500 BWF badminton event which will take place this week.

The tournament will take place from September 9-14, 2025 in Hong Kong Coliseum. Organizers provide a total prize of 500 thousand US dollars or Rp. 8.1 billion.

Fajar/Rian were initially on the list, but were later withdrawn. Thus, the remaining Indonesian men's doubles Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana and Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Mohammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani.

This decision was made because Fajar will be prepared to return to be paired with Muhammad Shohibul Fikri. Both will appear in the Super 750 China Masters 2025 (16-21 September) and Super 500 Korea Open 2025 (23-28 September).

Then, Rian will be tried with Yeremia Rambitan in the two events. In addition, he will also be with Rahmat Hidayat at the Denmark Open 2025 (14-19 October), French Open 2025 (21-26 October), and Hylo Open 2025 (28 Okt-2 Nov).

Meanwhile, the Hong Kong Open 2025 will mark the new era of Indonesian women's doubles. There are three new couples and one comeback pair will start their journey in this event.

They are Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi/Lanny Tria Mayasari, Rachel Alllessya Rose/Febi Setianingrum, Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Meilysa Trias Puspitasari, and Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti.

Indonesia has sent a total of 12 representatives to this tournament. Women's singles is the only sector that doesn't send players there.

From the men's singles, Indonesia sent Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, Alwi Farhan, and Mohammad Zaki Ubaidillah.

Then in the mixed doubles, there are Jafar Hifdayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu, Amri Syahnawi/Nita Violina Marwah, and Adnan Maulana/Indah Cahya Sari Jamil.
