Aston Villa Vs West Brom 2-2 Draw: Keinan Davis' Late Goal Shatters The Baggles Victory

JAKARTA - The late goal scored by Keinan Davis destroyed West Bromwich's victory in the 33rd Premier League match on Sunday local time (Monday western Indonesia time). Against Aston Villa, The Baggles were only able to end in a 2-2 draw at the Villa Park Stadium, Birmingham.

Davis scored his first Premier League goal in the second minute of injury time to erase the lead West Brom had from the start of the second half.

Two points that slipped from West Brom's hands meant that they could only add to the achievement of 25 points and were stuck in 19th of the standings, still nine points adrift of the safety zone.

Meanwhile, Villa (45), who failed to win in three consecutive matches, did not move from 11th in the standings, Antara reported according to the official Premier League website.

Villa actually took the lead from the ninth minute when Anwar El Ghazi converted a penalty to outwit goalkeeper Sam Johnstone after Semi Ajeyi brought down Ross Barkley in the area.

Instead of taking advantage of their dominance, Villa instead rewarded their guest with a penalty after Ezri Konsa brought down Ainsley Maitland-Niles in the forbidden area.

Matheus Pereira gave the opportunity to optimize the ball by hitting the ball from the spot to the ceiling of the goal to make it a 1-1 draw in the 23rd minute.

West Brom continued to press and almost took the lead in the 41st minute when Maitland-Niles' shot was brilliantly secured by goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

A minute later, West Brom had another good chance from Pereira's free-kick which had outwitted Martinez, but the ball still hit the crossbar and the score lasted until halftime.

Two minutes into the second half West Brom really managed to turn things around when Mbaye Diagne took advantage of Konsa's blunder to shoot a cross into the far post area and Tyrone Mings who tried to make a bow instead made the ball nest into his own net.

Since that goal Villa have tried to get back on their feet but the chances they created have gone nowhere including Johnstone's resounding save on Ahmed El Mohamady's 61st minute shot and two minutes later Bertrand Traore's strike still hit the post.

At a different end of the goal, West Brom almost confirmed their advantage if Martinez had not shown a neat reaction to ward off Konsa's header which almost became an own goal in the 73rd minute.

Three minutes from time, Davis almost equalized in a frenzy in the West Brom penalty box, unfortunately hitting the post.

But in the second minute of injury time, there was a miscommunication between Kyle Bartley and Johnstone, which Davis was able to exploit to really force the game to end in a 2-2 draw.

In their next fixture, Villa travel to Goodison Park to face Everton on Saturday, May 1, while West Brom two days later host Wolverhampton at The Hawthorns on a mission to keep their hopes alive of relegation.
