Head Of BTN: Saddil Ramdani And Elkan Baggot Enter The Radar Monitoring Of The Indonesian National Team

JAKARTA - The head of the National Team Agency (BTN), Sumardji, said that Elkan Baggot and Saddil Ramdani were included in the monitoring radar of the Indonesian national team before returning to appear in the Third Round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification.

Previously, these two names had become a summons to the Garuda Squad. However, in the last year, the names of the two drowned in the era of Shin Tae-yong's leadership.

Now that coaching has changed to the hands of Patrick Kluivert, the names of both players, such as Saddil and Baggot, have a chance to be called again.

"All of that has the opportunity for us to call. Currently, we are still going up and down to be called. We are monitoring everything, Elkan, Saddil. We will announce it in early March 2025," said Sumardji in a statement quoted on Thursday, February 20, 2025.

Sumardji also stated that the number of players to be called up was around 27 players. This number is to face two matches, namely against Australia on March 20, 2025 and hosting Bahrain on March 25, 2025.

"The number is 27 players. Yesterday's plan is according to the results of the meeting in my notes, 27 players will be called up."

"However, it will still be finalized again, whether 27 or 26," said Sumardji again.

The Indonesian national team is currently struggling in the Third Round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers. Patrick Kluivert's team is currently in third place in Group C standings with a collection of six points.

The collection is only one point away from Australia which is in second place.

To be able to qualify directly for the 2026 World Cup, the Indonesian national team must be in the top two positions.

If the Garuda Squad is in third or fourth place, they will continue their struggle for the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers Fourth Round.
