JAKARTA The condition of mixed doubles badminton player Dejan Ferdinansyah has improved after not being able to appear in the 2025 Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championship (BAMTC) final against China.
Dejan was not in a fit condition when Indonesia played the final so his partner Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti played with Rinov Rivaldy on Sunday, February 16, 2025.
"Now his condition has improved. Yesterday he also didn't play, that's why I asked the support team for me, for a leg treatment. Now it's better to just go back to PBSI for consultation," said Dejan.
While in China, Dejan/Fadia recorded playing together in the final match of the group stage against Malaysia, against China Taipei in the quarter-finals, and against Thailand in the semifinals.
Of the three matches, Dejan/Fadia recorded one defeat. The defeat occurred against the Thai mixed doubles pair, Supak Jomkoh/Sapsiree Taerattanachai.

Dejan admitted that he was still happy even though he could not play in the title-determining match against the host China because he was not fit. Moreover, he has only been at the PBSI National Training Center for two months.
"If you count how many matches and thank God you can also get achievements. I never thought I could play in this team before. So, I'm happy to be surprised," said the PB Djarum fostered athlete.
Indonesia won after defeating the host China with a landslide score of 3-1. It was Indonesia's first title in the biennial event which began in 2017.
Three points of Indonesia's victory were contributed by men's singles Alwi Farhan, mixed doubles pair Rinov Rivaldy/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhant, and men's doubles pair Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Daniel Marthin.
The only Indonesian representatives who lost in the final were the women's singles Kusuma Wardani. The 22-year-old badminton player lost to Xu Wenjing in a two-game straight match.
