Fighting Fate With Postecoglou: At Manchester United More Pressure

Ruben Amorim said he was under greater pressure at Manchester United than Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham Hotspur faced.

You see, according to the Portuguese coach, he works for a bigger club.

With Manchester United and Spurs in 13th and 14th positions in the Premier League standings, the two managers are under intense scrutiny.

However, ahead of their meeting on Sunday, February 16, 2025, Amorim insisted that he was under greater pressure due to intense scrutiny at Old Trafford.

"I'm a big fan of Ange Postecoglou. I can understand the relationship between me and Ange, we have the same problem."

"With all due respect, I was in a bigger club with greater pressure," said Amorim.

Amorim has only won four of the 13 league games he has played since taking over from Erik ten Hag in November 2024.

Meanwhile, Postecoglou has recorded only four league wins since early November 2024. Last week Spurs were eliminated from both domestic trophies in a span of four days.

"He's a good person. A very good coach. He wants to play football in the right way."

"We know that choosing a profession like this is a good thing, but you have to feel pressure when you don't win."

"Every game until the end of the season was a big game for us. We have to win whatever happens."

"We have to win and improve the way we play our football," said Amorim.

However, the Portuguese has a problem with player selection after experiencing new problems in training this week.

"This week went well until two days ago. We had a few problems. Our players didn't come back."
