Shin Tae-yong Gives First Statement After Being Fired From The Indonesian National Team

Shin Tae-yong appeared to the public through comments on social media after being fired from the Indonesian national team (doc. AFC).

JAKARTA - Shin Tae-yong has not issued an official statement after being fired from the Indonesian national team on Monday, January 6, 2025. However, he finally appeared through the comments column in Nova Arianto's upload.

Although not directly appearing, this moment on social media became Shin Tae-yong's first activity after releasing his status as coach of the Indonesian national team.

The South Korean coach seemed to write a comment on Nova Arianto's latest Instagram upload. The upload was intended for Shin Tae-yong with the content of the farewell words.

"Nova, thank you very much and I'm sorry I couldn't help you until the end," Shin Tae-yong wrote in his comments.

"Take care of our players and make sure they qualify for the World Cup (2026). See you later, thank you very much for everything," Shin continued, embedding the fire emoji, open arms, and a sign of love.

This comment was expressed by Shin Tae-yong because in Nova Arianto's latest upload, he did convey a touching farewell message to the head coach.

Moreover, Nova also admitted that so many memories were created in their togetherness for almost five years together.

"Thank you head coach and coaches for all the lessons so far. Of course there are many stories there that are sometimes happy, sad, and angry," Nova said as quoted on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.

"However, of course, all coaches will always be remembered for what has been made for Indonesian football," he added.

The end of the collaboration between Shin Tae-yong and the Indonesian national team was officially announced by PSSI on Monday, January 6, 2025.

On the same occasion, the chairman of PSSI, Erick Thohir, also stated that he had already pocketed the name of the new coach which will be released on January 12, 2025.
