Ancelotti Doesn't Want To Comment On The Approach To Alexander-Arnold From Liverpool

Carlo Ancelotti is still keeping Real Madrid's transfer maneuvers a secret in the winter exchange (Instagram/@realmadrid).

Carlo Ancelotti has not yet agreed to comment on Real Madrid's plans to add players during the January 2025 transfer market.

The La Liga giant has rejected rumors of their approach to Trent Alexander-Arnold earlier this week.

On Tuesday, December 31, 2024, Liverpool also quickly rejected the issue of the England international move in January 2025.

Alexander-Arnold has long been rumored to be Real Madrid's main target for next summer when his contract at Anfield expires.

However, Ancelotti is reluctant to talk about whether he wants to see additional players in his squad this month, with right-back first-choice, Dani Carvajal, out of the season due to serious knee injuries.

"It's hard to talk about that in this context. We'll see. We'll see."

"That's the only thing I can say. We have a lot of games in January 2025, we focus on that."

"Talking about the transfer market is not easy for me right now," Ancelotti said on Thursday, January 2, 2025.

Real Madrid have been linked to Alexander-Arnold even before Carvajal suffered a long-term injury.

However, the absence of the Spanish international has made this issue even more urgent for Los Blancos to immediately add players.

"I don't want to talk about it because it's not the right time to talk about it here."

Real Madrid have been hit by a series of injuries this season, particularly the shortage of defenders, although those concerns have eased with the return of centre-back David Alaba to training.

Ancelotti also shifted the conversation to the question of how they plan to be on the path to winning the La Liga rather than the winter transfer market.

"Now we have to win the game. The team has reacted well and is now more motivated, excited, and in better form."

"We have to maintain that good atmosphere. We can only do it by winning the game," said Ancelotti.
