Persib Secures League 1 2024/2025 Mid-season Champion Title, Bojan Hodak Doesn't Want To Be Euphoric

JAKARTA - Persib Bandung managed to seal the 2024/2025 Liga 1 half-season title. However, in the midst of this achievement, the coach's Bojan Hodak actually showed a surprising attitude.

Instead of being late in the euphoria of his team's achievements, the Croatian coach chose not to celebrate Maung Bandung's success in the half of the competition season. The reason is that for Bojan, the championship title only occurs at the end of the season.

"The most important thing is to win in May 2025 (at the end of the competition)," said Bojan Hodak after the match, quoted Monday, December 30, 2024.

Persib sealed the half-season title after closing the 17th week of Liga 1 2024/2025 with a win over Persis Solo 1-0 at Manahan Stadium, Solo, Sunday, December 29, 2024.

The victory made them at the top of the standings with a collection of 38 points, overtaking Persebaya, which now has one point.

This means that Maung Bandung still leaves one match more than the majority of other teams.

Bojan Hodak further admitted that Persib had the advantage of leading the standings compared to other clubs.

He also hopes that this good condition can be maintained by the team until the end of the competition.

"We have to keep going games after matches and seasons so long in Indonesia. Physically, it will be very tiring because of the journey and we have to keep going."

"As I said, match after game. So, the end of all of this is still very far away," he said.

Meanwhile, regarding the match against Persis Solo which ended with a 1-0 victory, Bojan admitted that securing three points in Manahan was not easy for Persib.

"Both teams played hard and there wasn't much space. We maximized Ciro Alves and he let go of a good cross."

"Then, Tyronne, who doesn't play full time, comes in fresh, can put himself in a good position and successfully score goals," said Bojan.

"After that, we started giving them space, giving them the ball, and we waited to counterattack."

"We had two or three other chances, but unfortunately we couldn't score," he said again.

After completing the match against Persis Solo and collecting 38 points at the end of the first half of the competition, Persib was only one point adrift with Persebaya Surabaya who was in second place.

Bojan Hodak's team still has one postponed match against Bali United which will be held on January 7, 2025.
