BWF Tour Finals Ticketholders Are Prohibited From Appearing In The 2024 PBSI National Championships

Women's singles badminton player Gregoria Mariska Tunjung will play in the 2024 BWF World Tour Finals (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA The PBSI Cipayung Training Center players who have confirmed their ticket to the 2024 BWF World Tour Finals did not get permission to appear in the 2024 PBSI National Championship (Kejurnas).

This means that Georgia Mariska Tunjung, Jonatan Christie, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, and Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi/Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma will certainly not go down.

"All of the Cipayung National Training players are absent from the 2024 National Championships because we are preparing to perform optimally in China," said Secretary General of PBSI, Ricky Subagja.

The ban does not apply to non-PBSI players who also get tickets to the season-ending tournament which will be held in China on 11-15 December 2024.

Thus, the Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Mohammad pair Reza Pahlevi Isfahani and Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja will automatically be present if they want to play.

Unlike the previous year, the 2024 edition of the National Championships allowed PBSI National Training players to participate. Their presence will add to the excitement of the tournament.

"The 2024 National Championship is certainly more attractive, fierce, and exciting. The reason is, all players of the Cipayung PBSI National Training Center will compete. They will appear to defend their respective clubs," said Ricky.

The 2024 PBSI National Championship will take place on December 3-8, 2024 at the Jakarta State University (UNJ) GOR and Pulogadung Sports Center, Rawamangun, East Jakarta.

A series of big names will take part, such as Hendra Setiawan, Marcus Fernaldi Gideon, Putri Kusuma Wardani, Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo, Rinov Rivaldy, and Leo Rolly Carnando.

A total of 367 athletes from 34 PBSI Provincial Management (Pengprov) appeared in the cadets' individual numbers and 214 players from 16 clubs from nine PBSI Provincial Managers will compete in mixed adult team numbers between clubs.
