JAKARTA - New Zealand boxer Joseph Parker is now listed as one of his favorite opponents to challenge Daniel Dubois in the race for the world heavyweight title IBF.

Dubois rose from the interm champion to the world of IBF actually after the knockout (KO) victory in the fifth round over Anthony Joshua at Wembley Stadium, London, England, in September 2024.

The rematch between Dubois and Joshua is planned to be held next year. However, Joshua may not be able to get into the ring quickly for a rematch at the beginning of next year.

According to reports, Joshua refused to immediately hold a rematch because the scheduled date was not in line with the plan. It makes a number of new names appear as potential replacements.

Parker, who currently holds the title of interim WBO champion, also emerged as one of Joshua's candidates to share the ring with Dubois in February 2025.

"This has to make sense and of course to fight Daniel, he met the criteria. He has rebuilt himself after Joe Joyce in a big way," said Dubois promoter Frank Warren, quoted by Sky Sports.

Parker returned to the race for the world title after winning five straight wins after losing to Joe Joyce in 2022. Two wins in that period he got against Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang.

However, Parker is not listed in the top 15 of the IBF, so he still needs to wait for the green light from the agency to challenge their champion Dubois.

Apart from Parker, Zhang and Martin Bakole are also on Dubiis' list of potential opponents. In addition, there was also Fabio Wardley after he won a knockout win in the first round over Frazer Clarke.
