JAKARTA - Kuwait authorities reported significant damage to vital facilities in the oil sector as well as injuries due to repeated attacks from Iran.

As reported by CNN, Kuwait Petroleum Corporation stated that the injured victims had received treatment and the location had been evacuated. The statement did not detail the number of injured victims or the details of the damage suffered by the facility.

The Kuwait Fire Department on Saturday, July 18, said its personnel put out two fires in different locations as a result of the Iranian attack. Previously, the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy of Kuwait stated that power plants and water desalination facilities had also been attacked by Iran.

"Five fire teams and three oil sector fire teams are fighting to put out the fire in one of the locations," the Kuwait Fire Department said, adding that several firefighters and a worker were injured in the process. Meanwhile, three other fire teams are trying to control the situation at the second incident site.

Kuwait's Foreign Ministry condemned the Iranian attack and accused Tehran of "a clear violation of international law" for targeting power plants and desalination plants.

The ministry said Kuwait had the right to "take all necessary measures" to defend itself.
