Bruno Fernandes Sindir Manchester United: Better In The Portugal National Team

JAKARTA - Bruno Fernandes quipped Manchester United when he revealed that he prefers to play for the Portugal national team.

This cannot be separated from the current condition of Manchester United. The 30-year-old admits that the situation in the Red Devils is currently not positive.

Manchester United are currently in 14th position in the 2024/2025 Premier League standings with only eight points from seven matches.

They also only managed to get two points from two matches in the 2024/2025 Europa League.

The situation got worse last week when Fernandes received a red card against Porto.

Amid the ongoing chaos at Old Trafford, the midfielder now considers international duty with Portugal a pleasant break.

"This is not a positive moment (at Manchester United). We didn't win the game and the national team space was completely different."

"I feel very calm, the dynamics is very good. I am in my country, speaking my language, and have a better food. I have shown a good level in the national team."

"This is a place where I feel happy. I feel like I can enjoy my football at a very high level because of the dynamics we have and the quality of my teammates," said Fernandes as reported by The Sun.

However, Fernandes hopes that upon his return from defending Portugal, the situation at Manchester United will improve.

He also realized that the contribution to the Red Devils this season was not optimal. Because of that, the 30-year-old midfielder hopes to help the team a lot after his passion for rebuilding with the Portugal national team, especially since Fernandes is the team captain.

"It's about an upgrade as soon as I get there (Manchester). I want to score again."

"I'm a midfielder who scored a lot of goals and over the years have always shown a very high level of goals."

"I have to meet my expectations and standards. What I did was not what I wanted for this season because I haven't scored a goal at the club at all."

"I hope once I get there I can score goals and help my club get back on track and be at a good level," said Fernandes.

Fernandes will fight again with Portugal in the 2024 UEFA Nations League A.

Selecao is scheduled to travel to Poland headquarters, Narodowy Stadium, on October 13, 2024, early morning WIB.

So far, Portugal is leading Group 1 with six points from the previous two matches.

Meanwhile, Manchester United will host Brentford in the eighth week of the Premier League on October 19, 2024 after the international break.
