Shin Tae-yong Calls Jens Raven Not Worth Promotion To The Senior Indonesian National Team

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team coach, Shin Tae-yong, answered the opportunity for the U-20 Indonesian national team striker, Jens Raven, to be promoted to the senior team. The South Korean coach has his own views.

Jens Ravens is one of the players who played a big role in qualifying Garuda Muda for the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup finals. He even recorded three goals in the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers. He always scored in every game.

Before performing brilliantly in the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup Qualification, Jens Raven also performed brilliantly in the 2024 AFF U-19 Cup. He scored four goals in a tournament where Garuda Muda won.

The coach said that currently Jens Raven is not capable of promoting to the Indonesian national team squad which is competing in the Third Round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification.

"That's all, it's really not enough. We still need more power and fighting power. If that's all, it won't be right for the senior Indonesian national team," said Shin Tae-yong after watching the Indonesia U-20 vs Yemen U-20 match, quoted Monday, September 30, 2024.

Although currently Jens Raven feels that she has not been promoted to the senior team, according to Shin Tae-yong, Jens Ravens still has a long time because she is currently 18 years old. His ability will certainly continue to grow.
