After Calling Persib Bandung Regarding Supporter Chaos, PT LIB Alludes To Point Reduction

Persib supporters representatives were summoned by PT LIB regarding the riots after the match against Persija (doc. Persib).

JAKARTA - President Director of PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB), Ferry Paulus, mentioned the sanctions for reducing points after holding a meeting with Persib Bandung. This is related to the chaos of supporters that occurred after the match against Persija Jakarta.

In the aftermath of the chaos between supporters that occurred, PT LIB felt the need to call Persib Bandung. Not only from the management, the Liga 1 operator also summoned supporters representatives to communicate.

In an explanation during a press conference, Ferry Paul mentioned the punishment and sanctions for Persib Bandung. However, in detail, Ferry Paulus said that the point was the decision of the PSSI Disciplinary Committee and was not the authority of PT LIB.

"Yes, I think we are waiting to see what PSSI Komdis will do. What is certain is that this incident is an important lesson for the league. The worst possibility, yes, we will make a policy for things to come."

"Yes, usually in football, operators can also give sanctions," said Ferry Paulus on Friday, September 27, 2024.

"However, sanctions are in the regulations. It could be that the heaviest sanctions will be, of course administrative penalties, point deductions and so on. That's a very tough sanction that the club usually receives. However, this case is not our domain," said Ferry again.

After summoning Persib management and supporters, PT LIB will provide input to Maung Bandung to impose sanctions on internal circles.

"We are in a position to ask Persib to give sanctions within them. That's what it looks like, we are corporations. Persib is also corporations."

"We cannot enter their area because they have their own rules and SOPs in Persib," said Ferry.

"We are the same way. Well, we provide input and clarification so that this must be given sanctions."

"Sanctions that must be published must be sanctioned to his team, namely players, management, and so on," he said.

Ferry also said that his analysis of the incident after the Persib vs Persija match could not be separated from the incident when Persib lost to Port FC in the 2024/2025 Asia Champions League 2 match.

"From the clarification we listened to, it was indeed disappointment at the time of the match on September 19, 2024. That's what we were critical of."

"It should be resolved immediately, immediately taken care of so that it doesn't become a big fire. Well, if it should be completed before September 23, 2024, it feels finished," said Ferry.
