Indra Sjafri: Indonesia U-20 Focuses One By One The 2025 U-20 Asian Cup Qualification Match

The U-20 Indonesian national team has undergone thorough preparations for the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup Qualification (doc. PSSI).

JAKARTA - The U-20 Indonesian national team coach, Indra Sjafri, stated that his squad was ready to look at all matches in the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup Qualification.

Nevertheless, he stressed that his team could focus on completing one match at a time in front of their eyes.

The U-20 Indonesian national team is in Group F of the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup Qualification with Yemen, Timor Leste, and the Maldives. With the status of the host, Garuda Muda will play their first match against the Maldives on September 25, 2024.

After the Maldives, Indra Sjafri's team will challenge Timor Leste on September 27, 2024 and close with the match against Yemen on September 29, 2024.

The three matches will be held at the Madya Stadium, Jakarta.

Seeing the busy schedule in sight, Indra Sjafri was not afraid. He said that he had emphasized his team to focus on the nearest match rather than being burdened with close schedules.

"Earlier I had a meeting with the players, we will finish one game at a time. So, we will focus first tomorrow. The first match against the Maldives, focus on going there first."

"Then, the second opponent is Timor Leste and finally Yemen," said Indra Sjafri at a press conference on Tuesday, September 23, 2024.

"We think that all the teams present here will respond well and never judge these three, which ones are better and which ones are lacking," said the coach.

Indra is further optimistic because so far he has made qualified preparations. Moreover, the U-20 Indonesian national team also reaped good results in the first preparations they made by winning the 2024 AFF U-19 Cup in Surabaya in July 2024.

After AFF U-19 2024, Indonesia U-20 underwent preparations by participating in a mini tournament in South Korea, Seoul Earth on Us Cup 2024, and then a training camp in Bali for about two weeks.

"Regarding the preparations for the U-20 Indonesian national team, after we passed the first flight yesterday of the 2024 AFF U-19, we had participated in a tournament in South Korea against Argentina, Thailand, and host South Korea."

"Then, secondly, we made the final preparations in Bali yesterday for 14 days by doing internal games and simulations of qualifying matches."

"Three days ago we moved to Jakarta and all players were ready to carry out a mission to be able to give the best for Indonesia," he said.
