China Open 2024: Dejan/Gloria Didang Unggulan Kedua

JAKARTA - The steps of the mixed doubles pair Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja were held in the semifinals of the 2024 China Open after losing against the host pair, Feng Yan Zhe/Huang Dong Ping.

Dejan/Gloria surrendered in two straight games 16-21 and 15-21 from the second seed at the Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium, China, on Saturday, September 21 afternoon WIB.

"Our achievements here are quite good even though we want more. We are still grateful because our overall game throughout the week has improved compared to previous tournaments," said Dejan.

In the first game, Dejan/Gloria actually had a good momentum ahead of their opponents with a difference of five points 13-8. However, Feng/Huang's seven points in a row changed everything after that.

In the second game, Dejan/Gloria also put up a very tough fight before the interval. They even led several points even though the difference in numbers was not so far away.

However, their appearance wavered again after successfully taking the lead at the break. The five consecutive points produced by the opponent after that made Dejan/Gloria no longer have a chance to equalize the score.

"In the second game, my focus decreased slightly. We forced them to play with no lob. In fact, they had already taken care of it. I couldn't control it, I was too in a hurry. I should have been able to play by lifting the ball a lot first," said Gloria.

Dejan/Gloria next plan to appear at the Macau Open next week. The Super 300 BWF level tournament will be held on September 24-29 at the Macao East Asian Games Dome, Macau.

Indonesia still has hope to win tickets to the final of the China Open 2024 from the two representatives who will play after this. They are the men's singles Jonatan Christie and the men's doubles Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Daniel Marthin.
