JAKARTA - The list of circuits that will become the 2025 MotoGP racing venue is starting to open. The Balaton Park Circuit in Hungary is the sixth location listed for the 2025 MotoGP calendar.

"(The) Balaton Park in Hungary will be included in the 2025 MotoGP calendar. The circuit, which is near the western side of Balaton Lake, will improve the facilities," wrote an official MotoGP statement quoted on Friday, September 20, 2024.

Hungary first held the highest level of motorcycle racing in 1990 at the Hungaroring Circuit. The next series was held in 1992 which is the final series on the circuit to date.

"I would like to thank Carmelo Ezpeleta for the trust he has given us over the years and of course for the support of the Hungarian Government," said Chairman of Humda Zrt, Balaz Weingartner.

"The hard work over the years has finally paid off. We are included in the most-watched sports calendar in the world," he continued about the participation of the Balaton Circuit next season.

Meanwhile, Dorna Sports CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta welcomed Hungarian certainty that they would again hold MotoGP and World Superbike 2025.

"This circuit is in a spectacular location and will be a fantastic destination for fans to come and witness the most exciting sport in the world," said Ezpeleta.

"Work is underway to prepare the circuit to make its historic debut in the calendar, adding to the new chapter in Hungarian history in the Grand Prix motorcycle race. We are looking forward to returning to the main market in Central Europe," he said.
