Liga 1 2024/2025 Results: Borneo Failed To Win Against PSS Due To Suicide Goals

PSS vs Borneo ended in a 1-1 draw (Instagram/@pssleman).

JAKARTA - Borneo FC failed to pick up three points while visiting PSS Sleman headquarters in the fourth week of Liga 1 2024/2025. Having taken the lead, Pesut Etam had to settle for one point after Christophe Nduwarugara's own goal made the score end 1-1.

Appearing at Manahan Stadium, Solo, on Thursday, September 12, 2024, Indonesian Western Time (WIB) afternoon, Borneo appeared trending at PSS Sleman headquarters. They even dominated the game in the early minutes.

Several chances have been created by Pesut Etam. However, at the beginning of the movement, Borneo got a bitter reality because he had to play with 10 people.

This happened after their goalkeeper, Nadeo Argawinata, was given a red card by the referee. He was kicked out of the field after leaving his nest and fouled Nicolao Cardoso in the eighth minute.

This situation is clearly bitter for Borneo. PSS then tried to take advantage of the advantages of the number of players.

The 1-0 score for Borneo FC's advantage over PSS Sleman lasted until the first half was over.

In the second half, PSS immediately stepped on the gas and tried hard to score the equalizer goal. Hokky Carakan was played to replace Achmad Figo.

Evidently, the young player who had just defended the Indonesian national team in the Third Round of Group C of the 2026 World Cup Qualification almost brought PSS to equalize in the 59th minute. However, his efforts still failed.

Peralta then almost brought Borneo FC to double the score with two chances in the 67th minute. Peralta's first chance only hit the post, then he grabbed the bouncing ball which was fired again at the host's goal. Unfortunately, this second chance only led to a goal kick for PSS.

PSS Sleman finally survived defeat in the 75th minute shortly after Hokky Caraka's kick which was initially blocked by Angga Saputro, instead hit the body of Borneo's player, Christophe Nduwarugara. The ball slid into the net itself and made the score 1-1.

Borneo FC should be able to take the lead again in the 83rd minute when Berguinho tried to convert Peralta's pass. However, his shot hit his partner's body, Terens Puhiri, until it turned and failed to enter the opponent's goal.

Terens again managed to net the ball against PSS in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, the linesman immediately raised the offside flag and made the score last 1-1 until the game was over.
