JAKARTA - Mixed doubles pair Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati got tickets for the second round of the Korea Open 2024.

They qualified after an easy win over the United States pair, Chen Zhi Yi/Francesca Badminton, two straight games 21-7 and 21-14 on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, noon WIB.

This is Rehan/Lisa's second win in their two latest tournaments. Earlier at the Japan Open 2024 last week, they also went through the first half before it ran aground in the second half.

"Because it is different from the previous tournament, the first appearance at the Korea Open this time I am also still touching. However, thank God, the strategy we implemented was successful," said Rehan.

In the second round, Rehan/Lisa will face tougher challenges. They met South Korea's third seed, Kim Won-ho/Jeong Na-eun.

Rehan/Lisa have a bad record against the pair. Of the previous three competitive clashes, they have never won.

"To face the match in the second round of South Korea's (doubling) opponent, I want to just perform my best. We want to make the best possible use of the opportunity," said Rehan.

In another match, Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo's men's singles and women's singles Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo failed to beat their opponents.

Chico had to go home after losing two straight games against Hong Kong representative Jason Gunawan. Meanwhile, Ester lost the rubber game against China Taipei's singles, Lin Hsiang Ti.
