F1: Violating Technical Rules, Racer Alexander Albon Gets Disqualification

JAKARTA - Racer Williams, Alexander Albon, has been disqualified from the results of the Dutch Formula 1 (F1) Grand Prix (GP) qualification session at the Zandvoort Circuit on Saturday 24 August for violating technical regulations. According to a report from the official website of Formula 1, Sunday (25/8/2024), Albon previously managed to qualify in eighth position in qualifying for the Dutch GP. However, he now had to start the race from the last position due to problems on the floor of his car that had just undergone a major update. However, the FIA F1 Technical Delegation, Jo Bauer, identified the potential for the floor body-related problem after the qualifying session, which then prompted the supervisors to carry out further investigations.Albon and a team representative were called to meet the supervisors at 18.30 local time. After discussion, the supervisory panel finally decided to disqualify Albon. Bodies floor on Car 23 were found to be out of the volume limit set in Article 3.5.1 a) of the FIA Formula 1 Technical Regulation. The team did not debate the results of the calibration of the FIA measuring system or car measurements, but stated that their internal measurements showed different results, said the panel. This decision became a blow to Williams, who was initially optimistic of this circuit, along with their upgrade package, would be an opportunity to reach the first point since the race at Silverstone. At last, Alex was disqualified from today's qualifying session because his car floor was outside the volume limit set by the FIA,'' said Williams. We are very disappointed with this result and will carry out an in-depth investigation as well as immediately provide more information,' they added.

Meanwhile, Albon's teammate Logan badminton, was unable to attend the qualifying session after an accident at the last training session, resulting in severe damage to his also-renewable car, so it couldn't be fixed on time.Williams introduced several new components, including a diffuser, sidepod entrance channel, engine cover, central air take, and ground body in the first race after the F1 summer break, as part of their efforts to compete in the middle row.
