Fikri/Daniel Express Cela In The First Match Of Japan Open 2024

Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Daniel Marthin are not satisfied with their performance in the first match of the Japan Open 2024 (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA - The men's doubles pair Muhammad Shohibul Fikri / Daniel Marthin admitted that they still had flaws in their first appearance as a new couple at the Japan Open 2024.

Fikri/Daniel qualified for the second round of the tournament after winning two straight games with a score of 21-19 and 21-19 against the pair from China Taipei,manfaat Chien Wei/Wu Hsuan Yi, at the Yokohama Arena, on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, afternoon WIB.

This is Fikri/Daniel's first appearance as a new couple. Previously, the two names were paired with Bagas Maulana and Leo Rolly Carnando, respectively.

Fikri said that communication with his new partner went well even though this was their first appearance. However, there is still a lot that they need to improve, especially in terms of play.

"Just because we have often practiced together at the Cipayung National Training Center (PBSI), each of us already knows the advantages and disadvantages of partners. We can both support each other in the field," he said.

Daniel also agrees with his colleague. He considered their appearance as a new couple quite satisfying. However, of course there are still things that must be evaluated.

"In terms of game, our first appearance was good. We just made a lot of mistakes ourselves."

"We in the second game were far ahead, instead we could be overtaken. We haven't been able to play safely yet," he said.

Fikri/Daniel are one of four men's doubles who qualified for the second round. Before them, three tickets were secured by Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, Leo/Bagas, and Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani.

Leo/Bagas and Sabar/Reza immediately faced each other in the second half on Thursday, August 22, 2024. Thus, Indonesia automatically has one ticket to the quarter-finals of the men's doubles.

In addition to the four doubles, Indonesia also has tickets for the second round of Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo's men's singles, Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo's women's singles, and Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati's mixed doubles.

The second half of Japan Open 2024 will take place on Thursday, August 22, 2024. The match will start at 09.00 local time or 11.00 WIB.
