JAKARTA Muhammad Fadil Imran revealed his vision and mission after officially advancing to the position of Chairman of the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) for the 2024-2028 term of service.

Fadil Imran was elected by acclamation to replace the previous chairman Agung Firman Sampurna in the PBSI XXIV/2024 national meeting (Munas) at the Empire Palace Hotel Surabaya, Saturday 10 August afternoon.

"I bring vision and mission. His vision is to realize badminton as a source of pride and joy for the Indonesian people," said Fadil in a statement.

There are three missions carried by Fadil Imran to realize this vision. The first is to transform the recruitment and coaching of athletes.

Followed by the second is the optimization of operational management, the sports industry, and innovation. Meanwhile, the third mission is to improve communication and community involvement.

"I invite all parties to work together, together to make improvements and improvements to anything that is lacking towards the peak of world achievements," said Fadil.

Fadil Imran is running as a sole candidate. A total of 34 PBSI Provincial Management (Pengprov) from 38 Pengprov by acclamation gave a mandate to Fadil to become Ketum for the next four years.

To arrange the management, Fadil will be assisted by four members of the formatur, namely Alex Tirta (Chairman of the DKI Jakarta PBSI Provincial Government), Yudianegara (DI Yogyakarta), Suharto (Bengkulu), and Tonny Wahyudi (East Java). This formatur team was given a month to complete their duties.

The election of Fadil gave new hope for Indonesian badminton, which this year failed to give a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The only medal that was brought home from the sport was bronze. The medal was secured by the women's singles badminton player Gregoria Mariska Tunjung.
