Rafael Nadal Failed To Donate The 2024 Olympic Medal At The End Of His Career

JAKARTA - Rafael Nadal's move at the 2024 Paris Olympics has stalled. After being sidelined in the men's second round against arch-enemy Novak Djokovic, he failed to continue his journey in the men's doubles.

Together with Carlos Alcaraz, Nadal was stopped by the fourth-seeded United States pair, Austin Krajicek/Rajeev Ram, in the quarter-finals with a score of 2-6 and 4-6, Wednesday, July 31, 2024, local time.

Nadal left the Roland Garros field, a historic place that earned him the nickname of the King of Tanah Lihat with 14 trophies, waving at fans.

Nadal and Alcaraz caught the attention of tennis fans at the Olympics as they paired up for the first time.

Nadal is starting to seem frustrated. The doubles of the United States is over the wind and ready to close Nadal's journey at the Olympics.

However, the United States pair was made unable to get a second set easily. Alcaraz maintains service and breaks the opponent's service to force a tiebreak.

Nadalcaraz almost did the same thing as they struggled to get three break points. However, Krajicek/Ram appeared tenuous and defended strongly to thwart the Spanish doubles effort to rise.

The Spanish duo smiled at each other when the defeat was confirmed and walked to the net to congratulate Krajicek and Ram.

The defeat brought Nadal closer to making decisions about his future. Previously, one of Spain's best players said he would make decisions regarding retirement after the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Roland Garros is a historic house with a record 14 of Nadal's 22 Grand Slam titles. No other tennis player was able to score it at Roland Garros.

Meanwhile, Nadal's struggle in the men's singles ended sadly on Monday, July 29, 2024. He suffered a 1-6 and 4-6 defeat to his rival, Novak Djokovic, in a 60th encounter throughout his 18-year feud.

Nadal, now 38, has won a single gold medal in Beijing 2008 and doubles in Rio 2016.

The 2024 Paris Olympics are Nadal's fourth participation. He first took part in the Olympics in Athens 2004.
