Settings For Indonesian Contingent Uniforms At The 2024 Olympic Opening By Prabowo Subianto's Children

JAKARTA The outfits that will be worn by the Indonesian team at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics have been officially disclosed by the designer Didit Hediprasetyo.

Photos from the arrangement have been uploaded to the Indonesian team's official Instagram account on Friday, July 26, 2024, morning WIB. The simplicity of Indonesia's traditional design philosophy became the basis for the uniform thinking.

"My hope is to create designs that are a form of pride, passion, and resilience of our nation. At the same time ensure that every athlete appears and becomes the best of them when competing on the world stage," Didit said in an official statement.

This clothing design was inspired by the figure of Raden Saleh, a pioneer painter of romanticism from Java. The artist's journey from Central Java to European palaces in the 19th century was a reflection of Indonesia's revival on the world stage.

His works can also be found in the Rijksmuseum and Louvre halls.

The male athlete will later wear a beskap top. The Javanese man's traditional clothes were paired with white trousers. Then, female athletes have a red top with pants matching the male athlete.

"The design embodies a holistic approach that respects athletic performance and cultural pride. Each section pays tribute to Indonesia's brilliant cultural heritage, which prioritizes a sense of unity and a sense of belonging," wrote Vanity Fair.

The 2024 Paris Olympics will officially open on Friday, July 26, 2024, at 19.30 local time or Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 00.30 WIB.

Indonesia is recorded to have 29 athletes who left for Paris from 12 sports. They are targeted to be able to pocket more than two gold medals.
