If You Move To Marseille, Greenwood Is Immediately Scheduled To Return To The Village

JAKARTA - Mason Greenwood's transfer from Manchester United to Olympique de Marseille is just a little more complete.

Marseille agreed to pay 27 million pounds plus 3.2 million pounds and a sales clause of 50 percent.

The funny thing is, if Greenwood officially migrates to Ligue 1 club, it is even scheduled to return to England.

You see, Marseille will be invited to play a pre-season friendly with Championship club, Sunderland.

The party was held at the Bradford City's Valley Parade on August 3, 2024. Interestingly, Bradford was the birthplace of Greenwood.

The reason this friendly match was held there was because the Sunderland stadium, Stadium of Light, was not ready to play.

In addition, the election for Bradford City's Valley Parade was due to the stadium commemorating the 15th anniversary of the death of the father of the owner of Sunderland, Kyril Louis-Dreyfus.

Louis-Dreyfus's father, Robert, is the majority shareholder of Marseille between 1996 and 2009. The two clubs met in a friendly to commemorate their heritage.

Meanwhile, Greenwood is the native son of Bradford, West Yorkshire. He was born in Wibsey District and studied not far from where he lived, namely the Appleton Academy in Wyke District.

He started training his football skills on the Bradford Park Avenue pitch accompanied by his sister, Ashton, who chose to run in the 400-meter trajectory area.

Greenwood finally joined Manchester United's development academy in Halfax, West Yorkshire, at the age of six.
