JAKARTA The Central Board of the Indonesian Basketball Association (PP Perbasi) has prepared two national teams for one daughter and one son each to face FIBA 3X3 U-23 Nations League 2024.

Both teams have been training camps in two different places since July 9, 2024 and will last until the time of departure. The training for the men's team was held at the Kertajaya Surabaya CLS GOR, while the women's team at the Yogyakarta Basketball Seven Ten 3X3 Court.

"We hope that the team will be prepared as well as possible so that they can provide maximum results in Kuala Lumpur later," said Secretary General of Perbasi, Nirmala Dewi, in a statement received.

A total of five male and four female players have received calls to participate in this training camp.

From the men's team, the players called were Serigne Modou Kane, Albert Richard (BBM CLS Knights Surabaya), Ryan Anthony Gunawan (Flying Wheels Makassar), Hendra Suharto (BBM CLS Knights Surabaya), and Johanson Ronald Simbolong (BBM CLS Knights Surabaya).

Meanwhile, the women's players who received the call were Aimee Tampi Francienne (Surabaya Fever), Vivian Jennifer Chandra (Spartan Jogjakarta), Lidwina Ruth Riratri Dwi Saputri (Spartan Jogjakarta), and Sabrina Ayu Sandewang (Rajawali Makassar).

"In the end, four names will be chosen to be brought to Malaysia. We plan to announce it this weekend," he said.

This is the second time Perbasi has sent a team to compete in the FIBA 3X3 U-23 Nations League. Previously, Perbasi had sent a team at a similar event in 2018 in Mongolia.

The 2024 Nations League is also a qualifying event for the FIBA 3X3 U-23 World Cup 2024 which will take place in Mongolia. Later the winner of each conference will automatically qualify for the FIBA 3X3 World Cup.
