Fadil Imran Is Still Silent About The 2024 Olympic Bonus

JAKARTA The Secretary General of the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI), Fadil Imran, refused to discuss bonuses for athletes who will later receive medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Badminton has nine athletes who will appear in Paris later. All of them went there with the target of maintaining the gold medal tradition from the sport.

Fadil said that the target will be fought for as much as possible compared to discussing the bonuses that must be received by each athlete later.

"These children didn't expect anything. They wanted to be heroes and part of the history of this nation. It was more than anything. So, we don't want to be fooled. We want this to be an honor that is always conveyed to children that they must be heroes," said Fadil.

Badminton is the only sport (sports) in history that has always contributed gold medals for Indonesia since it was first contested at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.

Indonesian badminton was only absent from contributing to the gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics. In fact, even silver and bronze medals could not be won.

Fadil did not specify which sectors were charged with maintaining this tradition this year. However, he emphasized that the expectations of the Indonesian people from this sport will be fought for to the maximum point.

"The effort has been carried out, prayers have been carried out, I hope there will be results that are as expected. At least the tradition of getting medals can be maintained," he said.

The nine Indonesian badminton players who appeared in Paris this year were Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, Jonatan Christie, Fajar Alfian, Muhammad Rian Ardianto, Apriyani Rahayu, Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti, Rinov Rivaldy, and Pitha Haningtyas Mentari.

The 2024 Paris Olympics will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024. The badminton sport will start competing from 27 July to 5 August 2024.
