Germany Vs Spain: Real Madrid Duo Duel, Joselu Wants To Retire Kroos Soon

JAKARTA - Spanish national team striker Joselu warned his Real Madrid colleague, Toni Kroos. He is ready to help Kroos retire early when Spain meet Germany in the quarter-finals of Euro 2024 at Stuttgart Arena Stadium, Stuttgart, Friday, July 5, 2024 in the morning WIB.

Kroos will retire from the German national team after Euro 2024. The 34-year-old Madrid midfielder has actually left the national team after Germany's failure at Euro 2020.

However, German coach Julian Nagelsmann asked him to go down the mountain and strengthen the national team again at Euro 2024. Nagelsmann's request was met by Kroos. However, he confirmed that he would retire after the European Cup which was held at home.

Kroos has left Madrid and declared his retirement last May. In his long career at Los Merengues, Kroos has played 464 times and won more than 20 trophies, including five Champions Leagues.

When Germany meets Spain, Kroos will face his Madrid colleagues such as Alvaro Morata who is now playing at Atletico Madrid, Joselu and Dani Carvajal.

Joselu himself has also left the Santiago Bernabeu and played in Kuwait by strengthening the Al-Gharafa SC next season.

"It's great that I finally faced him. In my opinion, he reflects what's in Real Madrid. He will show what club values are. He is a mainstay of Germany and Real Madrid. We have to be wary of him," said Joselu.

Only Joselu will not compromise with Kroos. The former forward of Stoke City also plans to accelerate his colleague's retirement plans.

"We want to speed up Toni's retirement plan. I hope we win and this will be Toni's last game," he said.

"We are confident in our abilities and are not worried about their players. I certainly like Toni. We really pay attention to him. But Friday's match will be Toni's last game," said Joselu, who will play in his own hometown because he was actually born in Stuttgart before returning to Spain.

Kroos himself is ready to answer Joselu's challenge. Kroos ensured his colleagues' desire to speed up retirement will not be achieved.

"It will be an interesting and not boring game. Spain played good football. But we did the same," Kroos said.

"I will make every effort so that his (Joselu) wish will not be achieved," Kroos replied firmly.
