Several Choices Of Alex Pereira After Collapsed Jiri Prochazka At UFC 303

JAKARTA Alex Pereira proved his toughness as the light heavyweight champion of the UFC. The Brazilian MMA fighter managed to KO his opponent from the Republic of Czechia, Jiri Prochazka, in just two rounds at the UFC 303 event at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, June 30, 2024.

A high kick left leg of Pereira when the second round had just walked 18 seconds beating the right side of Prochazka's head, and immediately knocked him down. Prochazka could not get up, until the fight was decided to end with a KO victory for Pereira.

The duel is a rematch of the first fight to be held in New York, November 11, 2023. At that time Pereira only won 5 rounds, as well as won the UFC lightweight heavyweight title.

"I focused, because I faced a fighter who was trying to avenge his defeat. Prochazka's persistence actually gave me additional motivation to win the fight. And I managed to do what I had to do," said Pereira, a 36-year-old fighter with a record 11-2 (9 KOs) as quoted by MMA Fighting.

After the victory, Pereira was presented with several options to continue her MMA career at the UFC. The first choice is to stay in the light heavyweight (93 kg). There are two potential opponents who deserve to be offered to him, namely Jamahal Hill or Magomed Ankalaev.

Another option is to move up to the heavyweights, as Jon Jones and several other former lightweight heavyweight fighters do.

"Everything is worth trying. But to find certainty in my future, it is better to ask Dana White as a person who is more appropriate to answer," said Pereira.
