Shin Tae-yong's Instructions For Nova Arianto Who Leads Indonesia U-16 In The 2024 AFF U-16 Cup

Nova Arianto asked Indonesia U-16 in the AFF U-16 Cup (doc. PSSI).

Nova Arianto will escort the U-16 Indonesian national team to compete in the 2024 AFF U-16 Cup or ASEAN Championship U-16 which starts from June 21 to July 4, 2024.

Before going directly, Nova, who is also the assistant coach of the Garuda Squad, received important instructions from Shin Tae-yong.

The head coach of the Indonesian national team left a message to Nova to bring the team to victory. Shin Tae-yong said Nova had to direct the young players to appear relaxed and not escape to pay attention to the mental stability of the players.

"Coach Shin Tae-yong only advised players to always play enjoy. Coach Shin also conveyed mental problems."

"The player's mentality must be stronger against whoever his opponent is," Nova Arianto said in a statement in Solo quoted on Friday, June 21, 2024.

Nova also explained that so far PSSI has not burdened the U-16 Indonesian national team with a certain target. However, the coach has hope that the team he takes care of can repeat the 2022 achievement, namely the title celebration.

"In the previous edition (AFF U-16 Cup) we won. This is a motivation for us to be able to match the achievements of the previous edition," said Nova.

When asked about personal targets, Nova did not set a limit too high. He just wants his team to be able to focus on facing every match in the 2024 AFF U-16 Cup.

"My personal target will be to focus on the team per team. I will focus on Singapore on how to get the best results, then focus on the next matches," he said.

In the opening match which will be held on June 21, 2024 at Manahan Stadium, Solo, the U-16 Indonesian national team in Group A will face Singapore.

Three days later, they will fight the Philippines and close with the match against Laos on 27 June 2024.
