JAKARTA - Astra Honda Motor has just launched the Honda Vario Evo 160 as its latest model. However, the model has not been equipped with the Honda RoadSync feature that is already available on the Honda PCX 160 and also the Honda ADV 160.
When asked at the launch of the Vario Evo 160, AHM revealed that the decision was related to consumer needs and product positioning in the market. Therefore, the new Honda RoadSync feature is applied to certain models that are considered appropriate for the user's character.
"For now, we only apply RoadSync to PCX and ADV. So for Vario 160 there is no RoadSync application," said Marketing Director of PT Astra Honda Motor Naoki Kajino, in Cikarang, West Java, Wednesday, June 24.
The Japanese manufacturer continues to monitor consumer habits and needs, especially Honda Vario 160 users. From the observations made so far, the connectivity feature is not considered a major need for the majority of Vario users.
"We see from the user habits, especially Vario 160 users, so far we have not seen the need to apply the RoadSync feature," said Naoki.
It is known that the Vario 160 is positioned as a sporty scooter for daily use with a more aggressive character. Therefore, AHM considered various aspects before adding new features, including the impact on the selling price of the vehicle.
However, the Vario Evo 160 feature is already using a smart key system, answer back system, USB socket, full LED lights, digital instrument panel, idling stop system (ISS), antilock braking system (ABS) for the highest variant and much more.
Honda Vario EVO is available in three different variants, namely CBS at Rp28.5 million, Nitro Rp28.7 million and ABS or the highest variant at Rp31.4 million. All of them are on the road status Jakarta.
