Dani Carvajal Ready To Bring Positive Spirit To The Spanish National Team

Dani Carvajal, who has changed his back number for Euro 2024, hopes to transmit his positive spirit to his teammates. The right-back, who is currently at his best, shines after an extraordinary season ended with the La Liga title and Champions League win coveted at Wembley. Carvajal, who is known for his charisma and leadership, is trying to transmit his happiness to the entire team who are already excited to face this tournament.

"Football is heavily influenced by dynamics, and everything is contagious, both good and bad. Because I am in a good moment, I hope to infect and invite everyone who wants to join me," said Carvajal.

Carvajal joined his team-mates a few days later at Las Rozas' training camp, after receiving thousands of congratulatory messages after a win in Europe. "Everyone knows me, both on and off the pitch. I received a lot of congratulations and they were happy for me," Carvajal said.

Now he has the opportunity to compete at the Euros, a competition that, although hard to believe, has never played. "Twice I had the opportunity to play at the Euros when I was at the top, I was injured, so I'm really excited to appear at the Euros this time and hopefully I can win it," he said.

Carvajal will wear the number 2 on his back, removing the number 0 from the number 20 he previously wore when wearing a red uniform. "In the Nations League I wore the number 2 and this year I also managed well at the club, so I decided to change the jersey number to bring luck and hopefully it can happen again."

He also shared this fate with Joselu, his teammates, friends, and brother-in-law, the very close relationship between the two players who have gone through a lot together.

"For us this is something extraordinary. Sharing the dressing room in Castilla, being in Germany in different teams, dealing with each other several times... And now, both at my club after winning the title, lifting the Champions League... or winning the Nations League, taking a nearly perfect path at the Euros and being here with him... Everything stays in the family, we have an extraordinary relationship and we really enjoy it because this moment is difficult to repeat," he said.

Carvajal, a defender who has a competitive spirit embedded in his soul, never gives up. "I feel like this little belongs to me, my lifestyle. I am very competitive in everything and I think, thanks to that, I am the person I am now on the pitch."

Spain, which has been practicing in Germany for several days with high intensity, is excited to welcome Euro 2024. "It's a very difficult Euro, with very strong teams. There will be more than one surprise, there are teams that are very difficult to beat. But I imagine the Euros with Spain in the final in Berlin. I'm looking forward to Saturday and playing against Croatia, we really want the competition to start," said Carvajal.
