Indonesia U-16 Preparations Have Been 75 Percent Ahead Of The 2024 ASEAN Championship U-16

Nova Arianto will lead the U-16 Indonesian national team to appear in the 2024 ASEAN Championship (doc. PSSI).

JAKARTA - Indonesia U-16 is conducting a training camp to face a number of tournaments this year.

Nearby, Nova Arianto's team will face the 2024 ASEAN U-16 Championship (AFF U-16 Cup) which will take place in Solo, Indonesia, from June 21 to July 4, 2024.

So far, Nova Arianto revealed that his troop preparations have reached 75 percent.

"Yes, we are focused again and continue to undergo training camps. The progress of Indonesia U-16 is quite good. Currently, the team is 75 percent preparatory before going to the ASEAN Championship U-16 on June 21, 2024."

"In the remaining time, we will improve the shortcomings so that later during the match, players can give their best," said Nova.

The evaluation that Nova will continue to carry out is the mental readiness and performance of all players.

So far, Indonesia U-16 has undergone seven trials. In the last trial, they won one win and one draw.

They won 2-1 against SKO Surakarta on June 9, 2024 on the Sriwedari field and drew 1-1 against SKO Cibubur on the Manahan field, Solo.

"Evaluation from several trials, about seven trials that we have carried out are players who are not yet stable."

"I mean, in one of their matches they can play well. Then, in other matches it's not good. That's our record from the coaching team," Nova said.

"According to the psychological team, mentally, players have not been able to regulate their mentality. So, that is also what we have to improve. Then, we are also strengthening the formation that we will use," said the coach again.

Indonesia U-16 still has one final trial before appearing in the 2024 ASEAN Champioship U-16.

The last match was a means for Nova Arianto to choose the best player according to the quota and achieve peak performance in the official tournament later.

"We still have another agenda, the last trial on June 15, 2024 against Bhayangkara. After that, we will have a reduction in players to 23 names to be registered with the AFF."

"We will continue to focus on fixing what is the problem so far so that players can be better prepared," said Nova.

The 2024 ASEAN Championship U-16 will be held at two venues, namely Manahan Stadium and Sriwedari Stadium.

Apart from that, Indonesia U-16 will also face the 2025 U-17 Asian Cup Qualification. They are in Group G with Australia, Kuwait, and the North Mariana Islands.

The 2025 U-17 Asian Cup Qualification Group G matches will take place in Kuwait on 23-27 October 2024.
