Calvin Verdok And Jens Raven Approved By Their Naturalization Requests By Commission III Of The Indonesian House Of Representatives

Calvin Verdonk is undergoing the naturalization process at the DPR RI (Instagram/@c.verdonk).

JAKARTA - After obtaining approval from Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives regarding the request for citizenship of the Republic of Indonesia, the files of Calvin Verdok and Jens Raven were brought to the Commission III working meeting.

The meeting was chaired by Prince Khairul Saleh as Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives. Also present were Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo, representatives of PSSI, and representatives of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

Not to forget, Calvin Verdok attended the meeting, while Jens Raven attended a meeting via Zoom because he was in France with the U-20 Indonesian national team and Indra Sjafri.

The initial agenda, Menpora explained related to the request for citizenship of Calvin and Jens before the trial.

Then, Cahyo Rahadian Muzhar as Director General of General Legal Administration representing the Minister of Law and Human Rights gave a statement on the feasibility of the two players for citizenship.

"The application for Indonesian citizenship has gone through examination and research from the Examining and Research Team for Citizenship Giving (TP3K) consisting of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, the Ministry of State Secretariat, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the State Intelligence Agency, and PSSI."

"In terms of citizenship, the applicant meets the requirements in accordance with the provisions of Article 20 of Law no. 12 of 2006 concerning Citizenship of the Republic of Indonesia in conjunction with Article 15 of PP No. 2 of 2007."

"From the sports aspect, the applicant fulfills the provisions in accordance with Law 11 of 2022 concerning Sport and Regulation of the Minister of Youth and Sports No. 10 of 2023 concerning Procedures for Providing Recommendations for the Proposal of Indonesian Citizenship for Sportsmen of Foreign Citizens and Sports Workers of Foreign Citizens."

"The petitioners have lines of descent from Indonesian citizens. Calvin Verdonk has lines of Indonesian descent from his biological father, Ronald Latent Cyber, who was born in Meulaboh, Aceh, on February 16, 1958."

"Jens Raven has an Indonesian citizen line from his grandmother, Willy Maudy Baumgarten, who was born in Yogyakrta on April 6, 1944."

"At the time of this working meeting, the Government stated that supporters gave citizenship on behalf of Calvin Verdonk and Jens Raven," said Cahyo.

After that, members of the session were asked by the leadership of the Commission III meeting of the DPR RI to provide opinions as well as approval.

All members of the trial agreed to give Indonesian citizenship to Calvin and Jens.

"Commission III of the DPR RI approved the recommendation of Indonesian citizenship on behalf of Calvin Verdink and Jens Raven on the note that the determination of Indonesian citizenship was established by the competent authority based on the provisions of the applicable laws and regulations. All factions of Commission III of the DPR RI agreed," said Prince Khairul Saleh, followed by the hammering.
