Ditingkahi Smoke Disruption Suar, Selangor FC Wins RCTI Premium Sports Tournament After Bend Persija 1-0

JAKARTA - Selangor FC won the mini RCTI Premium Sports tournament after a 1-0 win over Persija Jakarta, in the first-ranked RCTI Premium Sports match at the Jakarta International Stadium, Jakarta, Sunday.

The Malaysian team nicknamed the Red Movement kicked off from the start. The match was only three minutes old, Ahmad Zikri sent a cross into Persija's penalty box which was met by Alvin Mateus Fortes' header. 1-0 for Selangor.

Persija tried to retaliate through Rayhan Hannan's kick which was still able to be pushed over by goalkeeper Selangor Muhammad Azim.

After that, Persija, which was strengthened by the majority of its young players, had difficulty creating dangerous opportunities into the Selangor defense, while Selangor gave the last threat before halftime through one of his foreign players Jose Orozco Cijia, who was still parried by goalkeeper Cahya Supriadi.

One chance was finally obtained by Persija striker Aji Kusuma, but his shot went straight to goalkeeper Muhammad Azim. 1-0 for Selangor's advantage closing the first half.

After halftime, Persija again tried hard to score the equalizer goal. Akbar Arjunsyah's header went wide from the Selangor goal, while Firza Andika's free kick near the opponent's penalty box could still be blocked by defenders.

Aji Kusuma had another chance when he had a shooting space, but his shot was still aimed straight at the Selangor goalkeeper. Not long after, Persija's goal was threatened when winger Selangor Muhammad Mukhairi fired a shot that goalkeeper Cahya could hold.

Before normal time ended, a number of spectators lit flares in several sectors of stadium stands. The thick smoke then disrupted the players and the match could not be continued, so Selangor was declared the winner and champion.
