Indonesia U-19 Don't Be Careless Even Though It's In ASEAN Cup U-19 2024

The U-19 Indonesian national team underwent TC to appear in the 2024 ASEAN Cup U-19 (doc. PSSI).

The draw for the 2024 AFF U-19 Cup or ASEAN Cup U-19 was completed on Thursday, May 30, 2024, afternoon WIB.

The U-19 Indonesian national team is in Group A which is fairly safe because being faced with an opponent is not too heavy. The opponents of Garuda Muda in the group stage are Timor Leste, Cambodia, and the Philippines.

Although assessing that the opponent in Group A is not a serious threat, the U-19 Indonesian national team is still asked to be vigilant and focused on maximum results. This was conveyed by PSSI Executive Committee (Exco) Member, Vivin Cahyani.

"We have done it optimally, yes, we also do fair drawing. As a result, we cannot say this is easy. We must be optimistic about this (drawing) result," said Vivin Cahyani after the draw in the Senayan area, Jakarta, on May 30, 2024.

"I hope the team is also ready. We have to be ready to fight anyone. Every country that appears will surely bring the pride of their respective countries. I think the opponent must have a strong determination to win the match."

"So, we (Indonesia U-19) must not be careless. Even though the results of this drawing are easy and make us quite optimistic, we must not be careless," he said.

The 2024 ASEAN U-19 Cup will take place in Surabaya, East Java, on 17-29 July 2024. Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium and Gelora 10 November will be the venue for the match.

If you look at the track record, the U-19 Indonesian national team has only qualified for the turnamein final once, namely in 2013. The rest, Garuda Muda are more often stuck in the semifinals.

The U-19 Indonesian national team is currently undergoing a training camp (TC) in Como, Italy, in preparation for appearing in the 2024 Toulon Cup on June 4-17, 2024.
