Fatboy Slim Lost Passion To Work On New Music

JAKARTA - Electronic musician, Fatboy Slim admitted that he was losing his passion for writing new songs. For now, he prefers to focus on his gig schedule.

But that doesn't mean the owner of the name Norman Cook doesn't work at all. This year he introduced two new singles titled 'Role Model' and 'Bus Stop Please'.

He presented the two songs as a surprise on several stage schedules. This is the latest release of Slim Fatboy since 2022.

"The last two singles I just got out of the live show. Both are songs that I made just to play in my spare time," he said, quoted from Billboard December 31.

"I have songs that other people don't have in my set. And it became popular with people when we managed to get samples and release them."

He admitted that he was not enthusiastic about working on new music works. He did not feel the need to release a new song if he didn't feel any passion.

"The problem is, you can't make music unless you're really excited and it's driven you since you wake up in the morning," he explained.

"I don't seem to feel that way anymore. I feel like it's about being a DJ and holding an event like this, but I kind of lost my passion for making music."
