Persib Vs Bali United: Maung Bandung Was Covered With Fear

Persib Bandung will host Bali United in the second leg of the 2023/2024 League 1 Championship Series (doc. Persib).

JAKARTA - Persib Bandung will host Bali United in the second leg of the 2023/2024 League 1 Championship Series at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Saturday, May 18, 2024.

Maung Bandung coach, Bojan Hodak, admitted that there were a few feelings of fear before meeting Bali United again. Previously, Persib Bandung had undergone the first leg by facing Bali United on May 14, 2024. In the match at the Bali United Training Center, the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

Bali United scored a goal through Jefferson Assis in the 83rd minute and was replied by Persib through David da Silva at 90+9.

The draw in the first leg was clearly disappointing for Maung Bandung players. Because of that, Bojan Hodak admitted that his team was overshadowed by fear because of a negative record when meeting Bali United during the Liga 1 performance.

Judging by the 16 meetings that have occurred, Persib only won once and lost six times, nine matches ended in a draw

"Some players looked disappointed because we failed to win there. You see, we made more chances, we also appeared more dangerous," said Bojan Hodak, quoted from Persib's official website on Friday, May 17, 2024.

"Previously, when we came to Bali there was a little bit of fear because we had never received a positive result. However, after the match in the dressing room, everyone was disappointed we couldn't win yet," said the Croatian coach.

Looking at the second match, Bojan felt more confident. In addition to playing at home, he said that his squad was better prepared with increasing motivation.

"Everything looks good. Everything looks hungry and everyone wants to win. I hope when it comes and the stadium will be full."

"We have extra motivation and got positive results," said Bojan Hodak.

It is different from the first leg which was held without spectators. The reason is that Bali United cannot use its main home, Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium, because it is being used for the 2024 U-17 Women's Asian Cup.

Now, at home to Persib, the host clearly has the motivation to multiply because it has the full support of supporters.

The match at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium will kick off at 19.00 WIB.
