Not Offered, Sherina Munaf Honored to Join the Film "Filosofi Teras"

JAKARTA - Sherina Munaf is back acting through the film Filosofi Teras. As the title suggests, this film is adapted from the book by Henry Manampiring which has entered the 100th edition.

The film directed by Affandi Abdul Rahman will portray Sherina as Alinea, the first child in a family that faces various problems both from their careers to their economy.

"When I heard there was this project, then I talked to the management and I said 'This is Henry's core philosophy!' and that's the book I read. I said, 'Let's see the synopsis'. And when I read it, yes, I advocated myself to meet, meet, and finally meet Mas Affandi directly," said Sherina Munaf in the release of the trailer in Central Jakarta on Sunday, July 12.

He admitted that he did not receive an offer but there was a discussion to meet with the director before undergoing a screen test. Sherina also felt that she was not confident enough to be accepted by her creator.

"We also have screen tests, and it's like... there's a feeling of nervousness, right, Mas? I swear, I'm not lying, when I got home I felt 'Ah, it seems I can't do it'. It feels like the acting was less than that. But it turns out that maybe Mas Affandi can filter something from whatever I gave at that time, and it turns out to be right, Mas?" he explained.

Sherina also explained that although she was friends with Henry Manampiring who was the author, she only told her friend when she had already done the process of becoming the main character.

"The first thing I did was tell Henry, because Henry didn't know at that time. Then we met, chatted, 'How about it, do you agree? Do you restuin?'. That was it, right, restuin? Then the answer was, 'Oh, I restuin a lot', he said again.

"So of course I feel very honored to be considered for the first time, then finally accepted, and to be able to be in this project. Not only because of his book or his philosophy, but also because of the very extraordinary cast," said Sherina.

Henry Manampiring also said, "I feel the message is not lost, there is really a conversation between me and the team. So I'm really happy with the process."

The first trailer for the film Filosofi Teras tells the story of Alinea who initially felt that his life was going well; the salary was smooth, the lover was proposed, until the debt left by his late father changed everything.

The film "Filosofi Teras" is planned to be shown in Indonesian cinemas this year.
