The Indonesian Vs Iraq National Team In The 2026 World Cup Qualification Will Be Held In The Afternoon

The Indonesian national team will play in the afternoon against Iraq (doc. PSSI).

PSSI has announced the schedule for the Indonesian national team match in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers. Against Iraq, the Garuda Squad will compete at 16.00 WIB.

The certainty of the schedule was announced by PSSI through the Indonesian national team's Instagram account. In the uploads shared on Thursday, May 16, 2024, the news of the Garuda Squad's play schedule was also accompanied by the announcement of 22 names of players who were summoned.

The news of the Indonesian national team's match schedule which was held in the afternoon was also confirmed by the Chairman of the National Team Agency (BTN), Sumardji.

In his statement, Sumardji explained that the time was chosen because it was the most appropriate.

"Indeed, the kick-off was at 16.00 WIB according to the team's needs because as the host we can apply for it (the match schedule)," said Sumardji when contacted Thursday, May 16, 2024.

On the agenda of the second round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification, the first match of the Indonesian national team against Iraq will be held on June 6, 2024.

Then, the second match against the Philippines will take place on June 11, 2024.

Shifting to the composition of the Garuda Squad, Shin Tae-yong has called 22 names. However, in the latest announcement, it was known that the players who subscribed to the Indonesian national team, namely Witan Sulaeman, had canceled their joining. In addition, Marc Klok and Elkan Baggott were also not on the list.

So far, the Indonesian national team has ranked second in Group F of the 2026 World Cup Qualification.

The position was secured after Shin Tae-yong's team scored seven points from four matches.

They only need one more win to advance to the third round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers and qualify for the 2027 Asian Cup.
