VAR Mobile For Championship Series Liga 1 Is Ready

VAR Mobile for the 2023/2024 League 1 Championship Series (doc. PT LIB).

JAKARTA - PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) continues to finalize preparations ahead of the 2023/2024 League 1 Championship Series. The application of video assistant referee (VAR) in the match is the main focus.

In the Championship Series later, the use of VAR will not implement a permanent system in stadiums, but will be temporary using VAR Mobile.

VAR Mobile is more dynamic because it can move according to the location of the stadium used for the Championship Series.

The implementation of VAR Mobile at the location of the match has also been confirmed to be completed. Several units have even been in a number of stadiums since Friday, May 10, 2024.

"The process of preparing VAR equipment is running according to schedule. The VAR Mobile that is being worked on is ready to operate and launch to the match venue on Friday," said LIB Operations Director Asep Saputra, in a release quoted Monday, May 13, 2024.

There are already two VAR Mobile units departing. One VAR Mobile unit headed for Gianyar for the Bali United FC match against Persib Bandung on May 14, 2024. One other unit moved to Gelora Bangkalan Stadium for the Madura United FC vs Borneo FC match on May 15, 2024.

In addition, there will also be two VAR Mobile units departing for Balikpapan and Bandung for the Championship Series second leg match which will take place on May 18 and 19, 2024.

Bukan sakadar menerapkan VAR Mobile pada edisi Championship Series, PT LIB juga menyebutkan telah mempersiapkan untuk kompetisi musim depan.

"LIB itself is preparing 12 units of VAR Mobile to enter the League 1 competition next season," said Asep.

VAR Mobile will be used as a VAR Room for assistant referee video equipment personnel, such as VAR, AVAR (VAR assistant), and RO (operator replay). They work in VAR Mobile stationed near the stadium.

VAR Mobile is equipped with various features that are prepared to accommodate VAR tools. Call it six units of monitor screen, computer, and server.

There are three air conditioning pieces in VAR Mobile so that VAR tools can operate optimally. The details, one in VAR Room, and two in the server room to support the performance of server and computer devices. VAR Mobile is also equipped with generators.

"Untuk kelengkapan fitur ini kami tidak main-main mengingat biaya yang dihabiskan untuk alat-alat VAR sangatlah mahal."

"Before making VAR Mobile, we had conducted an comparative study of other countries that also used VAR Mobile. We also discussed in advance with the Karoseri who prepared VAR Mobile units," said Asep.
