PSG Vs. Borussia Dortmund: Meeting Record Is Equally Strong, But Hosts Are More Benefitable

The second match of the Champions League semifinals this week will be held at the Parc des Princes, Tuesday 7 May or Wednesday morning WIB. Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund will meet again six days after facing off at Signal Iduna Park.

This time Edin Terzic's men came to the French capital with a 1-0 lead over the first leg, thanks to Niclas Fullkrug's goal, while PSG lamented a number of wasted chances in front of supporters.

Furthermore, Real Madrid or Bayern Munich will await the winner at Wembley Stadium if Dortmund manages to maintain or increase their narrow advantage, while eliminating PSG's dream of winning the Champions League title again.

The first leg of last week's semifinals is the seventh meeting between PSG and Dortmund on the European stage, and no team can claim more superior where each team has two wins and three draws.

Fullkrug's sharp goal last week gave Dortmund their second win over the French champions, but the 1-0 score did not reflect a quick action on the Westfalens pitch at the stadium, where PSG fired 14 shots but only directed five of them into the net.

Before meeting in the Champions League, PSG and Dortmund's inaugural duel took place in the group stage of the Europa League 2010-11, where the first meeting at that time was Nuri Sahin and Clement Chantome scored in a 1-1 draw in Germany.

Next, in Paris, the goalless draw took place, meaning that BVB had never won or even scored in this away match against the Ligue 1 champion, and the fourth win in this head-to-head has so far been won by the home team.

Of the 12 goals created in this meeting, Neymar and Erling Haaland became the top goalscorers with two goals each, while young stars Karim Adeyemi and Warren Zare-Emery have also scored goals and may be key to PSG's ambition to achieve Wembley.
