Indonesia To Host The 2025 Gymnastics World Championship

JAKARTA - Indonesia has been officially appointed to host the 53rd edition of the World Gymnastics World Championship.

The information was confirmed by Secretary-General Nicolas Buompane Federation Internationale de Gymnastique (Federation International Gymnastique) via electronic mail, Friday, May 3.

The FIG Executive Committee has approved the allocation of the 53rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships to the Executive Board of the Indonesian Gymnastics Association (PB Persani), the letter reads.

Previously, Persani had already volunteered to hold this event. This event will be held in Jakarta on October 19-25, 2025.

A total of 600 athletes are included in a total of 1,200 people along with officials and judges from the 78 countries delegates will take part in this event.

The numbers to be competed in this event are artistic and gameastic. Indonesia will take part to collect points for the next Olympics in 2028.

Secretary General of PB Persani Sri Sundari said that the plan for this event would be held by the Indonesia Arena. He also hopes to get full support from the government.

"Regarding the requirements, we must get support from the government and other ministry agencies such as the Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Health and other ministries," said Sri Sundari.

The appointment of Indonesia to host this complementary news of the passing of Rifda Irfanaluthfi to the Paris Olympics, July 26-11 August. Rifda was the first Indonesian gymnast to qualify for the grand event.
