Liga 1 2023/2024 Results: Persija Win 2-1 Over PSIS

Persija won over PSIS Semarang in the last match of Liga 1 2023/2024 (doc. Persija).

JAKARTA - Persija Jakarta managed to secure the full three points when they hosted PSIS Semarang in the 34th week or the final match of Liga 1 2023/2024.

The match was held at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Jakarta, on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, afternoon WIB. Appearing in front of 18 thousand spectators, the Kemayoran Tigers closed the match with a final score of 2-1.

Thomas Doll's team tried to dominate the match from the start of the match in order to score first. However, the plan did not go sweet because PSIS's resistance was quite difficult for the hosts. So tough, the first half ended 0-0.

Marko Simic brought the team down 1-1 after using Ryo Matsumura's beautiful pass in the 67th minute.

Maciej Gajos' execution was also able to shake PSIS' net and score 2-1 until the end of the match.

Persija's victory in the final match ended quite a fun season. Although unable to fill the top four of the standings to penetrate the Championship Series, the Kemayoran Tigers are protected from the relegation zone and occupy the eighth position with 48 points.

Meanwhile, the four teams that managed to seal tickets to the Championship Series were Borneo FC, Persib Bandung, Bali United, and Madura United.

Interestingly, three of the four teams that secured tickets to the Championship Series actually lost in the final week.

Borneo FC lost 1-2 while visiting Dewa United headquarters. Madura United drew 0-0 at home to Arema FC.

Then, Persib Bandung as the second rank to visit PSS Sleman headquarters also lost 0-1. Finally, Bali United lost 2-4 at Persita Tangerang.
